Canadian actor and singer Alessandro Juliani was born on April 3, 1978 in Montreal, Quebec. He was raised in a family well-involved in the performing arts; his father is actor and writer John Juliani, while his mother, Donna Wong-Juliani, founded the Opera Breve in Vancouver. He earned his music degree at the McGill University in Montreal, where he became recognized for his baritone voice, intonation and sight-reading skills, which led to numerous stints as a substitute in professional choirs.
With this, Juliani first became known as a voice actor. His early credits include voicing the character of Pit in the animated series Captain N: The Game Master, among other roles in American animation and Japanese anime redubs. He lent his voice to programs such as Beast Machines: Transformers, Mucha Lucha!, X-Men: Evolution and The Adventures of T-Rex. He also appeared as himself in several television series, making his screen debut as a guest in MacGyver in 1989, and appeared in other shows such as Seven Days, Dark Angel, Taken, Stargate SG-1 and Jeremiah.
In 2003, Juliani joined the cast of the science fiction miniseries Battlestar Galactica, a reboot of the original 1970s series. He played the role of Felix Gaeta, a character that wasn’t featured in the original series. He is a tactical officer aboard the Galactica whose youthful, encouraging nature and idealism is put to the test. He played his character in the subsequent television series, as well as on the television movie Battlestar Galactica: Razor, which aired in 2007.
