'Army Wives' Second Season Marches Off to Much Applause

With the commendable finale of Army Wives season 2 recently being aired, the Lifetime drama series dominated the ratings.  In 2007, it broke records as the network's largest premiere in 23 years, and it persists in doing so.  Even though the show has left temporarily to work on its third season, it will surely be missed.

Army Wives wrapped up its latest term last November 2, garnering a 3.1 household rating for its finale.  According to Nielsen Media Research data, it managed to pull in around 3.9 million total viewers just that night.

The highly anticipated conclusion to the sophomore season of Army Wives is coming tonight and from what's been hinted at so far, it seems that it's going to be a dramatic one to say the least. The series, which is based on the non-fiction book originally titled Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives by Tanya Biank, premiered its second season on June, shedding light on the aftermath of the bombing at the Hump Bar as the wives struggled to put their lives back together.

Ivan Sergei to Guest Star on 'Army Wives'

Army Wives is about to conclude its sophomore season, following 19 episodes that will come to a close next week. And as part of the finale, the military drama has enlisted Ivan Sergei to join the cast.

Ivan Sergei made his big screen debut when he starred in John Woo's 1996 film Once a Thief, and then returned along with the rest of the cast for the 1997 television series, which only lasted one season.  Subsequently, he starred opposite Amanda Peet in Jack & Jill, which ran from 1999 to 2001.  He then joined the cast of Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central) as David Weiss before landing the role of Dr. Peter Winslow on Crossing Jordan from 2003 to 2004.

Army Wives: Willis Gets Recruited, Actors Gives Back

With the second season of Lifetime’s Army Wives coming to a close in November, production is gearing up for another season, which is set to air in June next year.  In fact, they will begin filming next week in Charleston, South Carolina.  Meanwhile, the newest face to be added on the guest list this season is none other than Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter, Rumer Willis.

The 19-year-old actress, who recently appeared in the big screen offering The House Bunny and was also named as one of People’s 100 Most Beautiful, is set to appear in the October 12th episode of Army Wives as the wife of a soldier who got injured in Iraq.

'Army Wives' Creator Relieved of Duty

Katherine Fugate, the creator of Lifetime's groundbreaking hit series Army Wives, has just been discharged, according to Entertainment Weekly.  Although the reason for her departure has not been disclosed, rumors of behind-the-scenes tension between Fugate and the show's corporate spouses, Lifetime and ABC Studios, have been buzzing since the beginning.  In fact, the military drama has endured three show-runner changes in its two years on the air.  The most recent adjustment came when Dee Johnson was let go and replaced by Nick Thiel.
