The CW will attempt to draw a stronger Monday night lineup with one of its latest offerings this fall,
Aliens in America. Scheduled to broadcast on 8:30/7:30c, the sitcom serves as a lead-in for
Girlfriends which airs at 9/8c.

Aliens in America is about a Pakistani Muslim exchange student and a nerdy 16-year-old boy who adjust to life and through the social nightmare of high school in Medora, Wisconsin with the help of each other. The series stars

Amy Pietz (Franny Tolchuk),
Scott Patterson (Gary Tolchuk),
Lindsey Shaw (Claire Tolchuk), and
Adhir Kalyan (Raja Musharaff).
The pilot episode, which is directed by Luke Greenfield and written by Moses Port and David Guarascio, introduces Justin as a teenager who has nearly everything except for a social life. In an effort to fix his problem, his mother, Fanny, arranges to host a foreign exchange student, thinking the gorgeous, athletic visitor will bestow some instant coolness on her outsider son. But her plans turn upside down when the exchange student turns out to be a Muslim teenager from Pakistan named Raja Musharaff.
Despite the cultural chasm between them, Justin and Raja quickly develop an unlikely friendship. While the rest of the family is slightly freaked out by the Muslim in their midst, Gary, an aspiring entrepreneur dad, is comforted by the fact that the host family receives a monthly check to help with expenses. This fits right in with Gary's money-making schemes, and when he sees how thoughtful and responsible Raja is, he's totally on board.
Also included in the Tolchuk household is Justin's popular sister Claire, who is sweetly unaware of how good-looking she is and too busy with her friends and her new boyfriend to pay much attention to their foreign houseguest.
