Battlestar Galactica

It comes as no surprise that there weren't any major revelations about Battlestar Galactica's final episodes unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con.  The 10 remaining installments of the series won't air until 2009, and executive producers Ron Moore and David Eick are notoriously tight-lipped regarding spoilers.  Even without any huge bombshells, the Comic-Con panel was still a treat for BSG fans.  Actors Katee Sackhoff, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, Michael Trucco, Jamie Bamber and Tahmoh Penikett all appeared at the panel, which was moderated by Battlestar Galactica addict Kevin Smith.

In addition to the BSG stars, the crew brought along a trailer for the final episodes that offered a few interesting glimpses at what's to come.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the BSG trailer showed plenty of "guns, fighting, blood and misery," as well as a glimpse at Tom Zarek stepping into a presidential role.  However, the footage that received the loudest response was a frisky make out session for Adama (Edward James Olmos) and Roslin (Mary McDonnell).  The pair has one of the best love stories on television in this writer's opinion, so seeing them take things to the next level as season 4 comes to a close should be interesting.

After fielding a variety of hilarious questions from Smith, Helfer and Callis revealed that they enjoyed the chance to finally shoot some guns in the series finale.  Callis even compared the ending to Apocalypse Now, which means that the show will likely go out with one heck of a bang.  While seeing Six and Baltar in the middle of a firefight should be exciting, Bamber promised that the last episode isn't all about death and destruction.  The arc for each character will reach a satisfying conclusion.  "The ending is an ending," he said.  "It's utterly sublime.  It does everything and everyone justice."

Toward the end of the panel, Smith tried his best to get the cast members to spill the beans about the identity of the final Cylon.  "F*** these dudes!  Your jobs [are] over!  Tell us!" he screamed.  Of course they wouldn't offer up any hints, but Moore did promise that the final toaster is someone we've previously seen on the show.
