Grey's Anatomy

Word on the street is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will soon be returning on Grey's Anatomy.  And as reported previously, he is expected to reprise his role as Denny Duquette, despite being killed off during the drama's second season, when the show returns for a fifth season.  While many news outlets have already reported this casting scoop, producers of the show have remained tight-lipped on how they plan to incorporate Denny back into the canvas. Nevertheless, Jeffrey Dean Morgan remains optimistic about his comeback on Grey's Anatomy.

“We'll see,” Morgan told People when asked about rumors that Denny would return to Grey's next fall in a possible brain tumor storyline for Katherine Heigl's character Izzie.  “I read about that, too.  Who knows what's going to happen?”

If he does turn up on the medical drama, Morgan reveals that he'll be thrilled to be romantically paired with Heigl again on-screen.

“She's awesome,” Morgan said.  “I had a blast with her.  She's wonderful and I can't say enough good things about her and that whole cast.”

Aside from Grey's Anatomy, Morgan is also known for playing patriarch John Winchester on Supernatural, and Judah Botwin, the deceased husband of show protagonist Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) on the Showtime series Weeds.  Since portraying his high-profile recurring roles, he has been cast in a string of movie projects, including the highly anticipated comic book adaptation of Watchmen where he plays ruthless superhero The Comedian.

“This is something that's a little different than I've ever done,” he said of his movie role, which is a far cry from the endearing Denny.  “I'm known for being the nice guy, and the opportunity to play a f—ing devil reincarnated…was something that I would've never passed up.”

Morgan will also be appearing in Days of Wrath, All Good Things, The Adventures of Beatle Boyin, Shanghai and Love and Other Impossible Pursuits.
