Previously on One Tree Hill: Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) invited a special girl to Vegas for a quickie wedding, but viewers were left wondering if he called Brooke, Peyton (Hilarie Burton), or Lindsey. Dan (Paul Johannson) was run down by a car just as his new heart became available.
By skipping ahead four years in the lives of its characters, the fifth season of
One Tree Hill truly reinvented the series. The actors were finally able to take on new challenges and deal with more adult issues. We got to see Nathan (James Lafferty) in a wheelchair, Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) as a schoolteacher, Brooke (Sophia Bush) running her own fashion company, Mouth (Lee Norris) pursuing his broadcasting dreams, and Lucas struggling to write a second book. The characters had to deal with numerous issues and setbacks, but they still managed to change and grow.
Season 6 of
One Tree Hill will start off by letting viewers know who Lucas invited to Las Vegas. It's the question that fans have been debating all summer, and the answer will finally be revealed during the September 1 premiere. Viewers can also look forward to discovering whether Dan will survive long enough to stir up more trouble for his family. A number of familiar faces are also set to return in season 6, including Mia, Millicent, Victoria and Owen.
The new season of
One Tree Hill will also feature the first episode written by series star Chad Michael Murray. The actor has come up with a noir tale set in the 1930s that will be filmed entirely in black and white. Actress Bethany Joy Galeotti may also move behind the scenes this year to direct an installment of the series.
As
One Tree Hill moves into its sixth season, it's bound to keep fans enthralled with its mix of soapy drama and grown-up issues. It's amazing what a little time jump can do for a series.
