Nicole Scherzinger has earned world-wide status as the lead vocalist for the popular singing group the Pussycat Dolls. And while she enjoys the glitz and glamour of show business, the 30-year-old recording artist has also endured a lot of tabloid intrusion.
“It's interesting…I think my personal life is different, I want to [be] known for my music,” Nicole Scherzinger told MTV.
“It has its ups and downs,” she added. “It's not as glamorous as people think. People don't see the work that goes in to touring but it's definitely worth it. It's not party all the time like people think- sometimes when I get the chance I am too tired to party!”
Some of the hard work that goes into maintaining a successful burlesque ensemble have already been featured on choreographer
Robin Antin's reality shows, including
Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll and the most recent
Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. The former centered on the search for a new member of the Pussycat Dolls, while the latter focused on forming an all-female group, Girlicious.
Scherzinger, who also guest starred on
Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, has now reunited with the Pussycat Dolls for a second album called “Doll Domination” after working on her solo career.
“It feels so good... on the plane over here I was excited because it's been so long since we've been over in the United Kingdom and Europe. We feel really strongly about the album,” she said.
“For me it was what I wanted to do. I'm a relentless perfectionist and I realized that a lot of the songs from my record should be Pussycat Dolls songs including [single] ‘When I Grow Up.' Next year I want to put out my solo album and I think the two will be able to co-exist nicely together,” she added.
As reported previously, "Doll Domination" is expected to hit stores next month.
