the next food network starThe Next Food Network Star just concluded its fourth season last Sunday, smashing all records for Food Network and becoming the highest-rated and most-watched telecast in its history.  The finale began with the three remaining finalists returning to Food Network's New York City headquarters, where they learned they'd each be creating a fully-produced pilot presentation for their respective shows.  Aaron McCargo Jr., the 36-year-old Thomas Jefferson University Hospital executive catering chef from Camden, New Jersey, was named this season's champ as he defeated 30-year-old former restaurateur Adam Gertler and 32-year-old restaurant owner Lisa Garza.

"It wasn't an easy road," Aaron said after his victory.  "I started doubting myself a lot.  But I made it, I'm here, I'm a star.  I wanted this so that everyone can know never give up on your dreams."

As grand prize winner, Aaron will be getting his own series on the Food Network, which is set to premiere on Sunday, August 3 at 1:30pm.

Big Daddy's House, Aaron's new daytime series that will run for six episodes, follows the Next Food Network Star champ as he shares his zeal for bold flavors and fun family cooking.  Throughout the series, Aaron will attempt to bring a sensible and practical vibe to the kitchen while whipping up mouth-watering recipes inspired by many years of culinary experience and his loving family.

On the premiere episode of Big Daddy's House called “Boy's Night In,” the Next Food Network champ will be cooking up dishes inspired by his sons Josh and Justin.  Among the featured recipes are Everything but the Kitchen Sink Chicken Tenders Salad, Josh's Roast Pork Sandwich with Broccoli Rabe and Provolone Cheese and some scrumptious Oven Baked Seasoned Fries.  As everything comes together, Aaron's youngest son, Justin, joins him and together they sit down for a boys night in.
