John Rich was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on January 7, 1974. This acclaimed country music singer, songwriter and producer, is named as one of the most powerful people in the music industry. After finishing his studies in Dickson County, Tennessee, he moved to Nashville and worked at Opryland USA singing. He then became a part of the band Lonestar, playing the bass guitar and alternating with Richie McDonald in the vocals. After leaving the band in 1998, John Rich started working on his solo album on BNA Records. His first number one record is “Come Cryin’ to Me.” John Rich is also known as the other half of the multi-platinum Warner Bros. duo Big & Rich, along with Big Kenny. Big & Rich has already released four studio albums and has charted singles on the Billboard Hot Country Song Charts. John Rich is also one of the founders of the popular band of country music singers in Nashville- the Muzak Mafia. They first started as a group of friends playing together and eventually became one of the most exciting scenes in Nashville. The other co-founders include the multi-platinum selling artist and ACM female vocalist of the year, Gretchen Wilson, Warner Brothers artists James Otto, Big Kenny, Shannon Brown, and Cowboy Troy. As a song writer, Rich is also the genius behind the Gretchen Wilson hits “When I Think About Cheatin” and “Here for the Party” as well as her ACM award-winning single of the year Redneck Woman. Aside from co-producing the Big & Rich record Horse of a Different Color, Rich has also produced Gretchen Wilson’s first and second record, Cowboy Toy’s current record, and the upcoming records of James Otto and Shannon Brown. He has also produced Faith Hills single “Mississippi Girl”.
