Torrey DeVitto was born on June 8, 1984 in Long Island, New York. DeVitto was raised in Fort Salonga, where she attended Fort Salonga Elementary School. DeVitto was raised in a musical family, as her father was a long- time drummer for Billy Joel, and she began her career as a musician. She began taking violin lessons at age sex, and played solo pieces at gigs including Christie Brinkley’s wedding, when Torrey was just 12 years old.
DeVitto decided to pursue an acting and modeling career, and began booking commercials as a stepping stone to that end. She was signed to Ford and Avenue One modeling agencies, but left modeling in 2002 when she discovered that the path was not for her.
DeVitto co-starred in ABC Family's series Beautiful People, on which she played an aspiring model named Karen Kerr. She later appeared in the 2006 horror flick sequel I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, playing the character Zoe. She has played guest roles on television series such as Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh, NBC's Scrubs, and the short-lived series Jack & Bobby. Torrey has gone on to land roles in Heber Holiday (2007), and was in the main cast of Green Flash playing opposite David Charvet and Kristin Cavallari. DeVitto is likely best known for her recurring role in seasons five and six on CW’s One Tree Hill as Carrie, the psychotic nanny who attempts to kidnap the child Jamie and is later killed by Dan.
