ABC has generously screened the first two hours of Lost season 5 for critics, and while we won’t be giving away all the major details, BuddyTV will give a little tidbit about what you can see in these two hours every weekday leading up to the premiere on January 21 at 9pm on ABC.
How does season 5 of Lost begin? With 815, those magic numbers that keep showing up everywhere. The numbers, however, aren’t the important part. The opening scene is an instant classic, just like when season 2 opened with Desmond in the Hatch.

Watching the first two hours of Lost season 5, I was reminded of the times when I truly loved this show. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Lost, growing frustrated when it seems to be going nowhere and being fascinated when it's burning on all cylinders. Based on these first two episodes, Lost is back to “Oh My Effing God!” status.
There will be no spoilers here, because any true Lost fan should avoid spoilers like the plague. I have no problem learning what an episode is generally about or who will be appearing in the guest cast, but knowing the major secrets before they air is like buying a Christmas present for yourself - it ruins the surprise.

Now being a “shipper” is a very serious thing. I mean, as your characters fall in love, you do too. 2008 was full of great television relationships. We had to narrow it down to a lucky 20 for BuddyTV users to choose from.
Any shipper fanatic knows their “ship” inside and out. I, for one, will always be a LoVe shipper. That is - Logan and Veronica of Veronica Mars. 2008 saw the development of new ships, the crumble of others, and the long lasting tension of our older ships. Overall, it's been a great year for most shippers.
The competition will be fierce as there are a lot of fans out there. When we did our “Which One Tree Hill Couple is Best” showdown, Brook and Lucas pulled out the win from underneath Leyton and Naley fans. MiSa (Michael and Sara from Prison Break) fans have been known to be a powerful force.

It's somewhat arbitrary that we start the new year in January. On the ancient Roman and Julian calendars, the new year began when the new consuls took office in Rome. This used to be in March, but eventually changed to January, and so that's when the year began. When the Gregorian calendar was adopted in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII, January was merely kept as the start of the year because that's how it was on the previous calendar. (Big ups to my guys over at Wikipedia for that information.) For television, we like to assign some sort of meaning to the arrival of the new year, but usually there is none to give. It's simply the midway point in the typical nine-month TV season. Not anymore, however. These days, with January comes the real TV season. September through December? Just a warm-up. Meaningless. A trifle. American Idol, Lost, 24. That's what January brings. (Also, the return of our favorite fall programs – Supernatural fans, bear with me. I've got something for you a bit later.)

There's less than a month standing between us and the premiere of Lost season 5, and BuddyTV is asking you to help us create a countdown for the best Lost episodes of all time. Thus far you've helped us decide the best episodes from the first three seasons of Lost, and now it's time for us to take a look at season 4.
For anyone who thought Lost had gone astray in previous seasons, season 4 came back with a vengeance, returning to the mystery and action-filled show we fell for in the first place. Season 4 was filled to the brim with exciting and important episodes--with new characters being introduced, a battle for leadership, the rescue of the Oceanic Six, and of course, there was that whole thing where the Island freaking disappeared!

ABC has a late holiday present for us all, another teaser trailer for Season 5 of Lost. Similar to the 11 previous teasers released by ABC, there's plenty of mystery contained in the 31 second clip.
While there's no backwards audio like the last Lost trailer, there is still a lot left for fans to decode. With an ominous voice-over asking, "How far would you go for love?", the trailer follows both those still Island-bound and the Oceanic 6 struggling with the question. During brief flashes, we see Sawyer, Daniel, Juliet and Miles in the jungle, and Kate holding Aaron as Jack reminds her that he was the one who saved her life. We see Penny and Desmond smiling with a newborn baby, Sun pointing a gun at Kate, and Locke diving out of the way of a low-flying plane.

The holiday season is the perfect time to help out the less-fortunate, and Lost's Daniel Dae Kim knows just how important that is. Along with his wife, the Korea-born actor aided the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots Hawaii Program with their donations.
With the shortfall in much needed toys for children, the Marines have been wishing for a bit more generosity until the last minutes before Christmas. They're hoping many others follow Daniel Dae Kim's example. A few days ago, he and his wife donated 500 toys for the Toys for Tots campaign at Kahala Mall.

Comedian and actor Jorge Garcia is indebted to his fans, and is keen to appreciate the variety the audiences come in. He's even pleased that Lost is a big hit among the music crowd, especially members of the bands Metallica and Anthrax.
Though the series is returning on January 21 with a clip special to boot, the actors know how rabid the viewers still are. It's just a little surprising how rock stars and soul singers can also get a little weak-kneed when it comes to seeing their favorite actors.
