Let’s face it. It’s just not possible for a couple from The Bachelor or The Bachelorette to work. When DeAnna Pappas chose Jesse Csincsak at the end of this past season of The Bachelorette, fans scratched their head in confusion. Jesse was unlike any other guy that showed up to win DeAnna’s heart, and perhaps that’s why she picked him, but many people felt it was doomed from the start – and they were right. Today, to almost no one’s surprise, DeAnna and Jesse announced on their official website that they were calling off their engagement.

This January, The Bachelor returns to ABC with Jason Mesnick sitting in the driver's seat. Fans have not soon forgotten Mesnick's heartache when DeAnna Pappas rejected his proposal on the season finale of The Bachelorette this year. Mesnick is a single dad and it marks the first time that the show has cast a single parent as a Bachelor or Bachelorette. The Bachelorette is also experiencing a major first: for the first time, the show has launched a nationwide search for the woman who will star on their next season. This week, Chris Harrison spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview about both shows, who he stays in touch with, and what other exciting things he has going on!
Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview.

For many fans of The Bachelorette, it seemed that DeAnna Pappas would bring Jeremy Anderson all the way to the end last season. The two formed an immediate bond, each having experience losing a parent. They felt comfortable together and she often showed him more attention than the other men on the show, which ended up alienating him from the rest of the group. DeAnna brought Jeremy all the way to the overnight dates but ended up eliminating him in an emotional rose ceremony. He even went back for her to try one last time on the season finale, but she ended up accepting Jesse Csincsak’s proposal. Today, Jeremy has moved on, gone back to work, and gotten on with his life.

Trista and Ryan Sutter arguably remain the most famous and most successful coupling produced by reality TV. After meeting in the first season of The Bachelorette, The Bachelor-style show that gave Trista the opportunity to choose a husband among 25 bachelors, the couple exchanged vows in front of 17 million viewers as ABC aired Trista & Ryan's Wedding in December 2003. They welcomed their first child, son Maxwell Alston, on July 26, 2007. After a year of joy with first born son, Trista and Ryan are ready to do it all again.

Good news, Bachelorette fans! DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak are still going strong, which is more than we can say for 90% of the couples to come out of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The two plan to marry in May of 2009 and fans have said that they want the wedding televised. On their official website, DeAnna and Jesse have asked fans to write in to ABC President Stephen McPherson to try to make it happen. The couple splits their times between DeAnna and Jesse’s home states of Georgia and Colorado. This month, they sat down with Jezebel magazine, based in Atlanta, about their time on and after The Bachelorette.

Jen Schefft may have won season 3 of The Bachelor but her relationship with Andrew Firestone quickly fizzled out. She did not fare much better as The Bachelorette, where she famously rejected the proposal of Jerry Ferris, the man that was supposed to win the competition, on live television. It seems that a few years later, things have turned around for this former Bachelorette. People magazine reported last week that Schefft is now engaged to her boyfriend, Joe Waterman, who is 35-years-old. Schefft, 32, told the magazine that she is “so excited” to be engaged and can’t wait to get married. The pair have not set a date yet but do plan to marry in 2009. Schefft said that she’s looking to have a “small and intimate” ceremony with around 50 to 60 of their closest friends and family invited.

When Jesse Csincsak got down on one knee and proposed to DeAnna Pappas on the season finale of The Bachelorette this year, they were sure of many things. They were sure that they loved each other and they were sure that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Soon after, they picked a wedding date, May 9, 2009 because that was the day that Jesse proposed. They were sure that they wanted their wedding to be in the Bahamas, because that’s where the two fell in love. However, the one thing DeAnna and Jesse aren’t sure of is how elaborate and extravagant they want their wedding to be. People magazine caught up with Pappas recently and got the details.

While just about every other Bachelor and Bachelorette couple called it quits after the cameras turned off, DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak still seem to have every intention of staying together and making it to the altar. The couple will marry in the Bahamas, the place that they first fell in love, on May 9, 2009. The date also has a special meaning to them since it's the day that Jesse proposed to DeAnna this year. The couple started a website to keep fans updated on their lives and their upcoming events. Though the site is currently under construction and is being updated, it does let fans know that this week, on September 19th, they will be signing autographs at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. After that, at the end of this month, they gear up for the Fox Reality Really Awards.
